Event Description
This two-day course is for new or aspiring SENCO/INCOs and will provide reassurance and pointers for first steps in the role. The sessions will offer practical ideas to support delegates in ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities make good progress. The course will provide a brief overview of national/local guidance and developments within the context of inclusion and SEND, and will highlight implications for the role. There will be a variety of inputs and practical activities. This course also provides an excellent foundation for the more advanced National Award for SEN Coordination.
Learning outcomes
By attending the course, participants will:
- have greater expertise and understanding of the leadership and management of inclusion
- be able to work together with colleagues to promote personalised learning in their school
- have an awareness of local contacts and networks
