Event Description
This half-day course provides an overview of the key factors affecting long- and short-term sickness absence and an overview of the relationship with disability discrimination. This includes advice on how such absence can be managed effectively and proactively; and addressing it within return to work meetings.
Delegates will be prepared to discuss and share best practice, knowing that any specific examples discussed will remain confidential to the group.
Learning outcomes
By attending the session, participants will:
- understand the strategic importance of managing sickness absence
- understand the most common reasons for short- and long-term sickness absence
- be able to identify those long-term sickness cases which involve exposure to disability claims
- have a clear structure for return to work meetings
- have some quick wins for managing absence more strategically
