Event Description
This practical and informative course is designed to support and empower delegates with an understanding of the nature and value of history in the curriculum, and how they can effectively support development of the subject across the whole school.

The course is particularly suitable for the non-specialist teachers newly appointed to the role, but will also be valuable for more experienced specialists in post.

By attending the course, participants will:


  • develop their confidence and enthusiasm as an effective subject leader and manager of primary history

  • address key subject specific issues and typical weaknesses in primary history (as identified by Ofsted) in pupil progression and achievement, teaching, curriculum development and leadership and management

  • strengthen their understanding of the characteristics of good and outstanding teaching and learning in primary history

  • gain knowledge of useful websites and resources
