Event Description
This course is suitable for new secondary NQT coordinators, those who are upskilling from the role of NQT induction mentor, and those who would value an opportunity to share best practice in terms of leading NQT induction.

It will ensure that participants are fully informed about the statutory requirements for coordinators and are clear on their responsibilities in leading NQT induction across the school. The course will guide delegates through the coordinator’s role across the induction period and cover what coordinators should expect of their NQTs, mentors and the Appropriate Body.

Specific guidance will be offered on planning an induction programme across the year, directing and monitoring mentors, target setting, observations and feedback, review meetings and termly assessments.

A session on the process of supporting NQTs causing concern will ensure that coordinators are fully informed about the expectations on schools and how to address potential failure situations.
