Event Description
This course is designed for newly qualified teachers and those who wish to develop their confidence in teaching gymnastics and dance within the physical education curriculum.

There will be a practical element with opportunities for discussion and questions. Participants will leave with new creative ideas and resources to support their teaching and ensure pupil progression across both key stages.

Please note this training focuses on gymnastics and dance.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will have:



  • an understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1 and 2





  • focusing on gymnastics and dance explored what makes a good lesson, and how to plan a scheme of work an increased





  • understanding of ways in which to improve and assess the quality of teaching and learning





  • observed a lesson and participated in practical activities with a focus on gymnastics and dance considered health and safety issues in PE
