Event Description
This course focuses on getting the planning right to help pupils to make good progress in maths.

We will begin from the National Curriculum end of year expectations and ensure course participants have the knowledge and skills to break these down and plan effectively from them. HfL’s ESSENTIALmaths materials will be used to exemplify sequences of learning.

The Teaching Standards which NQTs aim to meet of ‘demonstrating good subject and curriculum knowledge’ and ‘planning and teaching well-structured lessons’ will be well supported by attending this training.

The day will also include take-away ideas, activities and resources which can be tried straight away in the classroom. This course is most suitable to NQTs and those teachers early in their career.

This course would also suit overseas trained teachers, those returning to teaching or moving key stage.
