Event Description
With the shift to statutory status for RSHE from September 2020, PSHE has increased status in schools. This three-day course explores the role of the PSHE subject lead in this new context. Whether a new or experienced PSHE leader in primary, secondary or special school settings this course will ensure participants are equipped to fulfil their subject leader role. From ensuring that their school is inspection ready by September 2020 through to identifying best practice in delivery of core aspects, assessment and monitoring of PSHE, this course will provide delegates with the confidence they need to lead their school’s evolution.

Learning outcomes
By attending the course, participants will:


  • learn how to monitor and evaluate lesson delivery across their school and ways to conduct work scrutiny to critically review and improve relevant RSHE policy documents to ensure compliance to the new statutory curriculum

  • learn about best practice in PSHE, including relationships and sex education, and be ready to apply to their setting

  • consider ways to work proactively with governors, parents and pupils to ensure age-appropriate RSE that meets the needs of the school’s pupils

  • look at topics, skills and issues to ensure delivery of the breadth of PSHE ensuring Ofsted readiness
