This course is for teachers who are new to, or returning to, teaching in Year 6.
We will explore the statutory requirements for assessing pupil’s attainment in the core subjects at Key Stage 2 this year and consider strategies for supporting pupils in their learning journey towards achieving the expected standards.
We will also consider how the Herts for Learning assessment resources, including the HfL writing year group ‘TAFs’, can help delegates to track pupils’ progress and support their planning and teaching throughout the year. (These materials are non-statutory and some schools may have adopted a different approach to assessment. The course will still be relevant even if that is the case.)
