Written feedback is one of the activities that contributes significantly to teachers’ workload, but is it effective? This course aims to dispel the feedback myths, provide evidence-based strategies that teachers can introduce the very next day, and give practical common sense solutions to tackle the workload issue and improve learning and pupil progress.
This is one and a half day course. Delegates are expected to attend both sessions. This course is useful for both class teachers and teachers with responsibility for whole school teaching and learning who wish to develop a collaborative CPD and practice around feedback in their own school.
By attending the course, participants will:
- mark less to achieve more
- understand the research and principles surrounding feedback: what works and why stop themselves and their pupils simply ‘going through the motions’, but develop techniques to build pupils’ independence and self-assessment
- gain a wide repertoire of within lesson feedback strategies and manageable post-lesson feedback strategies
- gain a range of INSET ideas and resources to take back to school to develop an alternative feedback policy
