This conference will focus on the importance of inspiring young children to become lifelong learners by ensuring they are provided with a curriculum that places them at core of teaching and learning. It is a must for teachers and Early Years practitioners working with children aged 3-5 years in Nursery and Reception classes.
Ofsted specialist adviser for Early Education, Phil Minns, will provide a keynote on ‘lessons so far’ since the launch of the new education inspection framework with a focus on early reading.
Neil Farmer, International Educational Consultant supporting schools and settings, will be speaking about the purpose of what we do in Early Years and why. A clear intent informed by stakeholders that drives the tangible quality of well sequenced learning and development.
Billy Hickling, a veteran performer with the international hit percussion show STOMP will engage the audience in the award winning TrashBang music endnote. Billy has performed globally including at the London Olympics 2012 closing ceremony and recent TV appearances on Blue Peter and Live at The London Palladium. Delegates will embark on an exciting, fun and interactive journey into ‘found sound’ creating music using everyday available resources.
Delegates will be able to attend engaging, thought provoking and practical workshops throughout the day that will provide the opportunity for further reflection. These will focus on:
- language development and phonic acquisition
- deepening learning in maths
- children’s emotional security and positive attitudes to learning
