This session is designed to provide an introduction for governors to the area of special educational needs and disabilities. During the session there will be a range of practical activities and opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.
Governors will consider key aspects of their role by:
gaining knowledge of the national context including the SEND Code of Practice, 0-25 and current Ofsted frameworks for schools and the local area
exploring the Hertfordshire context for special educational needs and disabilities
having opportunities and share ideas relating to these areas
discussing first steps in developing the monitoring and challenge aspect of their role
