This popular, interactive and exciting programme run by the Early Years team supports NQTs in the Early Years Foundation Stage through a tailor made programme.
It consists of four full days spread over the academic year that cover essential aspects to support the development of high-quality practice and provision.
The autumn 2020 dates (13th October 2020 and 24th November 2020) will be delivered as webinars, and will consist of a morning and afternoon session. It is hoped that spring 2021 date (11th March 2021) and the summer 2021 date (18th May 2021) will be delivered face-to-face, however these will be reviewed nearer the time.
A final session at the end of the programme consists of an interactive webinar on 25th June 2021 that will enable the opportunity for Q&A with an EY Adviser following reflection of the year. Options for CPD are available for NQTs that start in the spring term.
By attending the programme, participants will:
- reflect upon the importance of the learning environment and the breadth of an effective curriculum that enables children to make progress develop classroom organisational skills and the effective use of resources
- including the deployment of adults develop an understanding of the role of the adult in supporting the unique child in adult-directed and child-initiated activities
- evaluate their practice to identify their continuing professional development needs and maximise the opportunity for developing supportive networks between NQT colleagues identify the impact of their work on learners and, as appropriate, others with whom they work with including outside agencies
