Understanding the financial support available to 16-19 learners (Bursary Funding) and the changes to the 2020/21 bursary funding allocations

Training objectives
Learning objectives – delegates will:

• Understand the different bursaries available to young people, and additional funding available due to COVID-19
• Consider the criteria for the management of discretionary bursary
• Review and evaluate the impact of the policy on young people’s participation and engagement in post-16 education
• Have an opportunity to review policies and processes in light of COVID-19 (including FAQ’s)
Learning outcomes
Suitable if you’re new to the Bursary Funding process, or would like an update due to the 2020/21 funding allocation changes, delegates will:

• Gain an awareness of the Bursary Fund (when making decisions)
• Understand the eligibility and application process to ensure funds managed for duration of the year
• Understand how to administer the bursary funds process as per the ESFA guidance, and in the current lockdown period
