Event Description
This course is designed to support EYFS staff in providing exploration and learning opportunities around technology. It will provide innovative approaches, which can be used to engage children’s interest, not just using technology, but also developing a curiosity about how that technology works.

The course aims to support EYFS teaching staff in providing an essential foundation for the 2014 computing curriculum. It will provide a wide range of ideas for resources and activities for their setting.
Training objectives
By attending this course, delegates will:

  • hear about technology-related tools and toys

  • discover technology for data-sensing and cause/effect

  • discuss capturing digital images from different devices including microscopes

  • develop early unplugged programming skills

  • explore online safety resources

Learning outcomes
By attending this course, delegates will:

  • develop understanding of supporting young children in exploring technology safely and creatively

  • develop confidence in providing a good foundation for children in accessing the 2014 computing curriculum

  • understand how to augment areas of learning with technology
