Early Years Foundation Stage
This course is for practitioners who would like to gain inspiration to create rich writing opportunities for the children in their Early Years. In order to encourage children to write independently, we need to ensure that the provision we are giving them is matched closely to their developing needs.
Practitioners need to support children to develop the skills they need to be able to write and then provide a range of engaging writing experiences that will inspire children to want to write independently and hone these new skills.
These linked training sessions, gap task and audit of current writing provision will enable practitioners to provide these necessary high-quality writing opportunities for their cohort.
By attending this training, participants will:
- investigate the potential barriers to writing for young children
- explore a range of practical ideas to inspire young children to write
- gain a clearer understanding of the skills young children need to be effective, independent writers
Delegates should have up to date assessment information about their cohort and their progress to date in writing.
