Event Description
Entries are invited for the Year 7 Mathematics Challenge 2021 which, this year, will take place online.
Schools are encouraged to submit teams of four Year 7 students for this friendly inter-school competition. (Maximum of three teams per school).
The challenge will comprise a mixture of challenge, problem-solving and fun.
All teams take part in one of the preliminary heats, with the best-performing teams going through to the Final which will also be held online on
Wednesday 9th June 2021 (2.00pm – 4.00pm).
The cost is £30.00 (£36.00 including VAT) per team. This includes participation in the Final for teams that qualify.
Learning outcomes
By attending this event, Year 7 students will:
- experience a wide range of questions and problems, from across the mathematics curriculum appropriate to their year group
- work in an online environment alongside high attainers from other local schools
- work as a team within a friendly but competitive environment
Additional Information
Students will need a pen or pencil, rubber and pencil sharpener.
