Event Description
Parents and carers are key partners when it comes to the emotional health and wellbeing of pupils. As we develop the curriculum to teach positive mental health it will be crucial to involve parents and carers in understanding what we are teaching and why. In doing so, we not only help our pupils but also share positive strategies that may benefit the whole family.

This session will highlight content and methods to involving parents actively in the emotional wellbeing journey of their children and draw on good examples from schools and authors.
Training objectives

  • to prepare participants to review and revitalise the range of approaches used to involve parents and carers in their children’s learning about emotional wellbeing

  • to identify content that schools can usefully share with parents and carers

Learning outcomes

  • identify key information and approaches to supporting pupils’ positive mental health with parents

  • identify methods to expand parental engagement with the school

  • develop a plan to expand the active engagement of parents and carers in supporting their children’s mental health
