The importance of the key person

A fully funded workshop to highlight the crucial role of the key person in developing positive relationships with both parents/carers and the child, and their central role in promoting the child’s learning and development.
Training objectives
Learning outcomes
The aims of this workshop are to:

  • review the importance of attachment for children and how the key person can use attachment theory to develop and embed effective practice

  • explore the role of the key person in gathering information to gain a greater insight into what children know and what they can do, to acknowledge children’s diverse experiences

  • look at the key person’s building positive relationships with families, treating families fairly by considering their differences

  • consider the responsibility of the key person in sharing information with others, including at transition to school and to inform safeguarding support

This workshop will continue the focus on equality and diversity and how this is embedded in practice in your setting through the role of the key person.
