Event Description
Teachers working with Year 6 pupils in 2021-2022 will want to ensure that they enable as many pupils as possible reach the age-related expectations required for the KS2 SATs in May 2022. This will reply on identifying gaps in understanding, teaching high-value learning so that pupils become secure and giving pupils the tools needed to be successful within assessment situations.
Grappling with the aims and content within the Upper Key Stage 2 (UKS2) curriculum, it is increasingly important to understand what age-related expectations should look like. Aimed at teachers working with Year 6 pupils, and taking into account the most up to date guidance, this course will support practitioners with strategies, practical ideas and resources that can be used to enable pupils to secure age-related learning by the end of the UKS2 phase.
By providing exemplifications of possible sequences of learning, teachers will develop further familiarity with the Year 6 content while developing a sequence to teach back in their own classroom tailored to suit the needs of their pupils.
This course will be run via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and will comprise live webinars and pre-recorded modules. Once booked onto the course, delegates will be sent registration details for the VLE where they will access a live webinar session which will take place on Monday 24th January from 2:00pm - 3:00pm. Pre-recorded materials will then be available following the session until the second live webinar that will take place on Monday 7th March from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.
