Event Description
Hertfordshire County Council, in partnership with Herts for Learning, will be running this half-day session to support colleagues in schools to secure a culture of vigilance and to tighten their systems and processes for safeguarding children.

Sessions include:


  • introduction and overview

  • safeguarding belt and braces

  • record keeping

  • governance – responsibility and accountability

  • KCSiE

  • allegation management

  • prevent

  • medicine storage and audit

  • What to expect during an Ofsted inspection?

  • understand the inspection requirements for keeping children safe

  • accurate record keeping

  • have a clear view of the key features of effective safeguarding

  • the role of governors

  • updates to 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'

Additional Information
This training is funded for and available to Hertfordshire state schools only. The training is aimed at headteachers/designated safeguarding leads and safeguarding governors. There is a limit of two places per school.
