Event Description
This training is suitable for all governors and will examine the range of issues and experiences that can impact on pupils' wellbeing and vulnerability. Increasing attention is now being paid to how schools are supporting pupils' emotional health and wellbeing, improving behaviour and closing the gap for vulnerable groups. 


Training objectives
Learning outcomes
This session will:
• define requirements for delivering pupil wellbeing and to consider best practice in this area
• highlight Ofsted's expectations in relation to pupil welfare and wellbeing
• support governors to know what strategies are being used in school so they can ensure relevant statutory duties are met
• raise awareness of the range of pupils vulnerabilities and support strategies
• provide governors with knowledge of recent initiatives relating to special educational needs and the implications for their role
