Training objectives
Learning outcomes
The aims of this course are to:


  • recognise the role and responsibilities of the designated lead person for safe staffing

  • develop knowledge of online safety, the potential online risks for staff and children and how to 'stay safe' online

  • understand how to manage allegations made against staff including the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

  • develop knowledge of safe staffing and safe recruitment practices including the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

Additional Information
This course is only suitable for practitioners working in Early Years settings registered on Ofsted Early Years, childcare and voluntary registers (i.e. NOT suitable for maintained settings or childminders).
