Event Description
This course, comprising of three twilight webinars, will empower subject leaders to lead developments in primary science assessment across the school.
The sessions will evidence best practice in science assessment and cover a range of topics: formative and diagnostic assessment, tracking assessment judgements and standardisation of assessment.
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore and reflect on how to review and adapt practices in their own settings and consider how the ongoing pandemic creates both challenges and opportunities for new ways of assessing pupils.
Learning outcomes
The aims of the course are to:
- review best practice in primary science assessment
- develop understanding of a range of formative assessment strategies and how these can be used to make judgements about understanding and identify next steps in learning
- examine how to ensure tracking and monitoring of assessment is manageable and impactful
- consider how to support teachers across the school with science standardisation and moderation
- explore resources which will support primary science assessment
