Event Description
These sessions will provide opportunities for Year 2 teachers to meet together (virtually) to share examples of the writing their pupils are producing and to discuss their summative assessment judgements for Key Stage 1.

Teachers will work in a group of up to five, with one adviser, in Microsoft Teams. Details will be sent in advance regarding how to access the remote session, along with guidance on how to digitally share pupil's work.

The aim is that each teacher will be able to share writing produced by two pupils in their class. Ideally, one of these would be a pupil who the teacher believes to be on track to achieve the expected standard by the end of the year. We would suggest that the other be a pupil on track for greater depth, if there are any in the class; otherwise an example of working towards, or another expected standard. Teachers are encouraged to select pupils who they would find it most useful to discuss, whether that be ‘borderline’ pupils, ‘benchmark’ pupils, or pupils who are tricky to assess.

Discussions will help teachers to identify if there are gaps within the evidence that may need to be addressed before the end of the year, in order to secure the judgement.

There are a number of sessions available and teachers can book on to whichever session is most convenient.
Schools can send up to 2 teachers to each session – places are per delegate helping to ensure maximum group size is not exceeded.
