Event Description
As school inspections restart, it is important for Early Years leaders to refresh and update their knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

This training places an emphasis on understanding the ‘Quality of Early Years education’ section within the school inspection handbook. There will be a focus on development of the curriculum to raise standards. This half-day course will explore the EIF, encompassing awareness of the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) reforms (in place from September 21).

This training will improve the ability of leaders to identify, through self-evaluation, what actions should be prioritised in EYFS.
Training objectives

  • understand the component parts of the EIF

  • within ‘Quality of education’, explore the intent, implementation and impact of curriculum and pedagogy and facilitate thinking on how this can be developed within the context of the school’s EYFS

  • explore the EIF messaging around leadership and management by understanding its expectations as an Early Years leader

  • support informed self-evaluation of the EYFS and action planning to improve the educational offer for children

Learning outcomes

  • understand what the EIF is and its key priorities

  • increase confidence in self-evaluation of the EYFS

  • improve ability to identify, through self-evaluation, what actions should be prioritised in school
