Event Description
This webinar has been created in response to the latest DfE guidance on the use of suitable systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) programmes in schools including ‘Letters and Sounds’. It will answer questions around whether schools can continue to use ‘Letters and Sounds’ and how to ensure that their approach is rigorous, systematic, used with fidelity, and achieves strong results for all pupils, including the most disadvantaged.
Delegates will also receive an audit tool that will provide further guidance.
Training objectives

  • to inform schools about the upcoming changes to 'Letters and Sounds' and address any anxieties that may exist

  • to support schools who use ‘Letters and Sounds’ to ensure that their provision adheres to the DfE guidance

  • to support schools in auditing their ‘Letters and Sounds’ provision to ensure they have created a systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) programme

Learning outcomes

  • delegates will feel reassured and confident about their next steps
