Event Description
Legionella - identify what is Legionella and why is it harmful. - understand the origins of Legionella and the factors which allow it to grow in man-made water systems. - identify the main conditions that exist for Legionella infection and how to control these risks. - understand how to carry out Legionella control regimes and keep required records. - understand and be aware of the legal requirements, approved codes of practice and guidance. COSHH - understand how substances should be managed on HCC premises and during HCC activities. - know where to find information about substances and how to use it. - decide which substances require a COSHH assessment. - carry out a COSHH assessment for a hazardous substance.
Please note this training is run by Hertfordshire County Council and has differing booking conditions from the Herts for Learning terms and conditions: bookings cancelled within four weeks of the course date will be charged at full price (unless a replacement is found) - bookings will be charged at full rate for non-attendees.
Learning outcomes
By attending the course, participants will:
- be able to implement a simple approach to managing risks from substances
- gain better awareness to the sources of health and safety information and support
