Event Description
This three-part course will develop understanding of child development in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Delegates will explore how curriculum content, high-quality teaching and accurate assessment are impacted by developmental awareness.

This training will focus on the three prime areas of learning and support delegates' understanding of the educational programmes and early learning goals in the revised 2021 EYFS statutory framework.
Training objectives

  • identify elements that constitute a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the prime areas of learning

  • explore how to make accurate assessment judgements

  • use understanding of child development and non-statutory guidance to support assessment judgements

Learning outcomes

  • an improved understanding of child development in the prime areas of learning

  • strategies to accelerate progress in the prime areas of learning

  • understanding the importance of making accurate assessments

  • knowledge of how to use the non-statutory guidance to appropriately plan effective learning opportunities for children

This training course is aimed at those working with 3-5 year olds only.
