Code: 19ASS/043P Analysing data in ASP (primary)

This course is aimed at new users to Analyse School Performance (ASP). It will support delegates to navigate the site and to interpret their 2019 school results (Key Stage 2 and, if available, Key Stage 1).

Delegates will be supported to make the most of the tools and options available within ASP, such as filtering the data and drilling down to individual pupils, and to explore the key points for school improvement.

The course will also explore the key features of the Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR) although it is not known if this will have been updated to 2019 data by the date of this course.

Code: ASS/19/200/P Assessment moderation clusters for teachers in Years 3 and 4 - Harpenden and Wheathampstead

These sessions will focus on exploring accuracy of assessment judgements against age-related expectations (focusing mainly on HfL assessment criteria, although also relevant where schools are using different assessment systems), as well as promoting good formative assessment practice that can be built into everyday learning. They also provide an excellent opportunity for Year 3 and Year 4 teachers to work together to achieve greater consistency in standards. The meetings will focus on assessment of maths and reading.

Delegates will be asked to bring some examples of work and there will be suggested activities to support the assessment discussions – please see information sent to schools, as well as teacher guidance on the grid: http://www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/assessment/ks2/moderationclusters.shtml

Code: 19ASS/036P Making the most of FFT Aspire (primary)

The tools and reports available in FFT Aspire continue to evolve to give schools a powerful insight into pupil attainment and progress.

This course will help delegates to use it to its full potential by exploring how to use its full range of features, including analysis of attainment and progress at Key Stage 2 (using the latest 2019 data), the Governor Dashboard and Extended Dashboard, term of birth analysis, pupil estimates to inform target-setting and the powerful Student Explorer.

Delegates should use their FFT Aspire username and password that gives access to pupil level data. We strongly advise that delegates check that these log-in details are working well in advance of the course.

Please note that this session is offered at a specially discounted rate for schools that have subscribed to FFT Aspire via Herts for Learning.

Code: 19PSE/018P Subject leader RSHE primary workshop (EVENT FULL)

Please note, this course was previously advertised as 'Reviewing relationships and sex education and health education, next steps in putting the DfE guidance into practice' and 'Delivering relationships and sex education and health education, next steps for subject leaders'.

Statutory relationships education and health education is fast approaching. Building on from our conference in March, this session will help schools to assess their current provision against the required content and explore good practice in delivering these areas. Approaches to effective parent, pupil and staff consultation are an important component that we will explore. This course will support subject leads to identify any required changes to curriculum content, classroom approaches, policy and processes in order to deliver the mandatory curriculum.
