This course is aimed at clerks to governing boards who wish to know more about their role with regards to permanent exclusion hearings. This one off session will give you an in-depth understanding of the process.
In most cases, permanent exclusion will be the last resort after a range of measures have been tried to improve the pupil's behaviour.
The role of the clerk leading up to, during and following the hearing is important, and will be covered in this session.
This is module one of five modules for new users; existing users may also attend any sessions as required. The series of half-day sessions is designed to support ‘new’ school timetablers, although each session is standalone and is suitable for existing timetablers, who may wish to refresh their knowledge of Nova-T6. This course is designed for those who are new to the role of designated senior person (DSP) for child protection and have completed stage one safeguarding children training for school staff. This course has been designed to help teachers boost the reading stamina of pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 (UKS2).
A pupil’s reading stamina is their ability to sustain reading for longer periods of time. There will be those pupils who find it easy to get lost in a book, and there will be those who do everything possible to avoid reading and struggle to complete books. The latter are often a concern for UKS2 teachers because of the demands required of the reading curriculum.
The 2019 KS2 Reading SATs paper presented a challenge for many pupils nationally. Reading stamina is, and will continue to be, key in accessing challenging texts with sufficient comprehension to be successful. Unlocking this valuable reading skill will not only allow pupils to succeed in reading assessments, but it will also give pupils the confidence to begin reading and enjoying a wide range of literature.
Trainers will share strategies designed to improve pupils’ engagement with reading and swiftly build their stamina. Delegates will explore a range of approaches and will leave with a teaching sequence to use in class.
This course is aimed at new users of the Hertfordshire version of RM Finance Online who will be posting the financial transactions onto the system.
Day one will provide an introduction to the system. We will be looking at the coding structure in RM Finance Online and how to post simple income and expenditure transactions.
Day two will follow on from the topics covered on day one. We will look at how to post more complex items including payroll reports. We will look at setting up and using duplicate batching and how to correct any errors.
Day three will revisit the areas covered on days one and two and will be an opportunity for delegates to refresh their knowledge and improve their skills using RM Finance Online in a supported environment.
